Certainity

In simple words, knowledge of certainty is the knowledge gained by listening to someone, studying, discussion, through the physical senses, arguments or by thinking and reflection. A Saint once said that knowledge of certainty is the state of discord. It is due to this form of knowledge that religious sects have become rampant.

The existence of everything can be proved in two ways: logical arguments or through a witness. Certainty gained through these ways is the knowledge of certainty which is an inferior level of certainty because though the logical arguments would generate a degree of certainty but the reality would still remain invisible. Likewise, no matter how truthful and honest a witness may be, only he would know the reality of the matter and those who hear it from him would not be able to conceive the exact reality.

It must be remembered that the eye of certainty may involve satanic deception. Many pseudo-spiritual guides are at this level and consider themselves to be elevated men of miracles due to their deceptive observations which are actually the outcome of their lustful worldly desires. They claim to be spiritual guides on the basis of these observations and attract people towards themselves.

The three levels of certainty can be explained with the help of an example. Let us assume that you have not seen that fire burns and someone tells you about it, then your certainty about this quality of fire would be at the stage of knowledge of certainty. Then a person lits a fire in front of you and you witness with your eyes that fire burns, then your certainty would elevate to the stage of eye of certainty. However, the stage of truth of certainty is that you get in contact with the fire and actually feel it burning.
