The Exoteric and The Esoteric

The main reason of our depravity in the present era is that we have turned oblivious to our real esoteric being and focus only on the superficial being.

The outward aspect of Faqr is to adopt the virtues of Prophet Mohammad, while the esoteric aspect is Divine vision and union.

The changes in a person's outward affect his spiritual being and vice versa but in the path of Faqr, the outward is made submissive to the inward. The spiritual guide first changes the thoughts and views of the disciple.

Islam has both an esoteric and an exoteric aspect. The outward aspect of Islam is embodied in sharia. Whereas, the esoteric aspect is represented by mysticism, which is the path leading to Divine reality and the gnosis of Allah.

A person cannot understand the religion until he understands its esoteric aspect. While the training of my disciples, I never try to change the appearance of anyone.

When one improves inwardly, he improves outwardly as well. When worldliness parts from the inward, everything is set aright. Why perform cosmetic surgery!
