The Companions possessed the Mohammadan light called Faqr. He who receives this light from them, reaches the Holy Prophet and hence Allah.
Guiding Stars
In olden times, when convoys travelled through deserts at night, they navigated by the stars. Similarly, the Companions of the Prophet are like stars, whoever follows them will find the righteous path. As Hadith states, "My Companions are like stars, you will find the straight path by following any one of them." (Mishkat al-Masabih 6018)
Sacred Souls
The Companions are the sacred souls who had the honour of remaining in the company of Prophet Mohammad. They not only embraced Islam but also sacrificed everything to spread it in the world.
First Lovers
The Companions are the first lovers of Prophet Mohammad which gives them superiority over the entire umma.
Distinguished Class
The sacred Companions are a distinguished class and a superior fraternity.
Minarets of Divine Light
The Companions are the minarets of Divine light who stood alongside Prophet Mohammad during hardships and remained steadfast in all trials.
Colored in Divine Hue
The Companions are such exalted personalities who were annihilated in the Divine beauty of Prophet Mohammad to such an extent that they had become colored in the hue of Allah.
Criteria of Companionship
Thousands of people had seen the Holy Prophet before and after his declaration of prophethood but not all are included among the sacred group of Companions. The general criteria to be considered a Companion include piety, righteousness, love for the Prophet and adhering to his Sunna. Moreover, anyone who saw or visited Prophet Mohammad in a state of faith is remembered as a Companion.
Unreachable Status
No one can reach the status of a common Companion, no matter one has achieved the station of al-Ghawth, al-Qutb or high ranks in piety. He cannot even get status equal to a Companion who used to graze goats all the day but at the time of prayer he came to the Prophet's Mosque with dirty hands and feet, performed ablution and offered prayer behind the Holy Prophet satiating his soul by beholding him.
Spiritual Ascension
During the life of the Holy Prophet his sacred Companions crossed all the spiritual stages of gnosis by the blessing of his closeness, attention and by beholding his sacred face.
"Salute to the unprecedented loyalty and sacrifice of the Companions of the Prophet. They remained undaunted through every suffering and their loyalty to the Prophet was not lessened in any situation. The agonies and trials could not falter the faith of the Companions, instead strengthened it. Whenever sacrifice was needed for the sake of Islam, Companions were always at the forefront. The Companions had to deal with satanic whispers the most."

صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم
صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم کے پاس رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کا وہ نور تھا جس کا نام فقر ہے۔ جس نے ان سے یہ نور حاصل کر لیا وہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم تک پہنچ گیا اور جو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم تک پہنچ گیا وہ اللہ تعالیٰ تک پہنچ گیا۔
راہنما ستارے
حدیث مبارکہ ہے"میرے صحابہؓ ستاروں کی مانند ہیں، جس کسی کی پیروی کرو گے ہدایت پاؤ گے۔" (مشکوٰۃ المصابیح۔ 6018) قدیم زمانے میں جب کارواں رات کو صحرا میں سفر کرتے تھے تو ستاروں کی مدد سے ہی راستے کا پتہ چلاتے تھے۔ حضور اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کا اشارہ مبارک بھی اسی طرف ہے کہ میرے کسی ایک صحابی ؓکی بھی پیروی کر لو گے تو صراطِ مستقیم پا جاؤ گے۔
نفوسِ قدسیہ
صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم وہ نفوسِ قدسیہ ہیں جنہوں نے حضور اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کی رفاقت اور صحبت اختیار کی اور دین ِ ِاسلام کو نہ صرف خود قبول کیا بلکہ اسے دنیا میں قا ئم و نافذ کرنے کی خاطر اپنا سب کچھ قربان کر دیا۔
اولین عاشقان
اصحابِ کبار رضی اللہ عنہم عاشقین ِرسولؐ کا اوّلین اور امت ِمسلمہ کا سب سے ممتاز طبقہ اور اعلیٰ ترین جماعت ہے۔
ممتاز جماعت
صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم روشنی کے وہ مینار ہیں جو رسولِ اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کے ساتھ ہر امتحان اور آزمائش میں پورے اترے۔
روشنی کے مینار
اصحابِ کبار رضی اللہ عنہم وہ مقدس ہستیاں ہیں جو جمالِ محبوبؐ میں اس قدر فنا ہو گئے تھے کہ صِبْغَۃَ اللّٰہ یعنی اللہ کے رنگ میں رنگ گئے تھے۔
اللہ کے رنگ میں رنگے
عہد ِرسالت اور بعثت سے قبل اور بعد میں ہزاروں لوگوں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کو دیکھا لیکن وہ سب صحابی ہونے کا شرف نہیں رکھتے۔ صحابی ہونے کے لیے عام معیار زہد و تقویٰ، اتباعِ رسولؐ اور عشق ِرسولؐ قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ ہر وہ شخص جس نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کو حالت ِایمان میں دیکھا ہو یا ملاقات کی ہو صحابی کے نام سے یاد کیا جا سکتا ہے۔
صحابی ہونے کے معیار
دورِ رسولؐ کے بعد ان کا کو ئی امتی خواہ قطبیت، غوثیت اور زہد و تقویٰ کے اعلیٰ سے اعلیٰ مقام پر فا ئز ہو جائے لیکن فضیلت میں اس عام صحابیؓ کے برابر بھی نہیں ہو سکتا جو دن بھر بھیڑ بکریاں اور اونٹ چرا کر گرد آلود ہاتھ پاؤں کے ساتھ مسجد ِنبویؐ میں آتا اور وضو کر کے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کے پیچھے رکوع و سجود کا شرف حاصل کرتا تھا اور دیدارِ محبوب سے اپنی نگاہوں اور روح کو سیراب کرتا تھا۔
ناقابلِ رسائی مقام
حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کی ظاہری حیاتِ مبارکہ میں صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے معرفت ِالٰہی کی تمام منازل اور مراتب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم کے چہرہ مبارک کے دیدار اور آپؐ کے قرب و نگاہِ کامل کی توجہ سے حاصل کیے۔
روحانی ترقی
آفرین ہے صحابہ کرامؓ کی وفا اور قربانی پر کہ کسی قسم کا ظلم و ستم ان کو نہ تو راہِ حق سے ہٹا سکا اور نہ ہی حضور علیہ الصلوٰۃ والسلام سے ان کی وفا میں کو ئی کمی آ ئی۔ قربان جا ئیے ان کے جذبہئ ایمانی پر کہ سخت سے سخت ترین حالات میں بھی ان کا ایمان متزلزل نہ ہوا۔
"جب بھی اسلام کو قربانی کی ضرورت پڑی صحابہ کرامؓ نے اس میں بڑھ چڑھ کر حصہ لیا۔ صحابہ کرامؓ کو سب سے زیادہ وسوسے آتے تھے۔"
