JEALOUSY
When the eye refuses to see Allah's blessings upon others
Definition of Jealousy
When Allah blesses someone but another individual becomes unhappy because of that blessing and prays for its decline then such an evil emotion is called jealousy.
Against Allah's Will
Jealousy is totally against Allah's will.
Spiritual Halt
At times, jealousy can entirely halt the spiritual journey of Faqr.
Grievous Affliction
There is no affliction more grievous than the torment of jealousy.
Closeness to Allah
The closer one gets to Allah, the more envious eyes are upon him.
Interference in Divine Will
Is it wise to criticize out of jealousy why Allah is blessing so and so person? It is a fight against Allah and interference in His decisions.
Satan's Origin
Jealousy is the foremost spiritual ailment and sin that manifested from Satan. He was jealous of Prophet Adam as Adam was blessed with the Divine Trust. Satan became rebellious and disobedient and refused Allah's commandment to prostrate to Prophet Adam.
Admiration vs Jealousy
Instead of being jealous, it is not wrong to feel admiration. If Allah has bestowed a blessing upon someone then admiring it and wishing the same for oneself is not considered wrong.
Self-Harm
Those consumed by jealousy ultimately harm themselves.
Jealousy's Torment
Jealousy is such a painful anxiety which has no equivalent, as a jealous person puts himself in torment because of his enemy (whom he is jealous of). Whereas his enemy has no worsening effects of his jealousy because the blessings of Allah cannot be snatched or lessened with jealousy.
"Jealousy is such a dangerous disease that many notable scholars become its victims and envy other scholars for their repute and fame. Fakirs and Saints curse material wealth and fame hence they are never jealous of anyone rather they are well-wishers of everyone."

حسد کی تعریف
حسد یہ ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کسی کو کوئی نعمت عطا کرے تو دوسرا شخص اس کا برا منائے اور اس نعمت کا زوال چاہے۔
رضائے الٰہی کے خلاف
حسدرضائے الٰہی کے خلاف ہے۔
رکاوٹ
حسد راہِ فقر کے سفر کو بعض اوقات بالکل ختم کردیتا ہے۔
شدید غم
حسد ایسا غم ہے کہ اس سے بڑھ کر کوئی غم نہیں ہو سکتا۔
قربِ الٰہی
جو اللہ کے زیادہ قریب ہوتا ہے اس کے حاسد زیادہ ہوتے ہیں۔
اللہ کے فیصلوں میں دخل
جسے اللہ تعالیٰ عطا کرے اس کے بارے میںحسد کے مارے یہ سوچنا کہ اسے یہ نعمت نہ ملے کہاں کی دانش مندی ہے؟ یہ تو سراسر اللہ تعالیٰ کے کاموں میں دخل اندازی اور اللہ تعالیٰ کے خلاف کھڑا ہونا ہے۔
شیطان کی ابتدا
حسد وجود میں آنے والی پہلی بیماری اور گناہ ہے جس کا اظہار سب سے پہلے آسمان پر شیطان لعین نے کیا۔ اس نے حضرت آدم علیہ السلام سے حسد کیا کہ اُن کو ”خلافت ِ الٰہیہ“ کیوں ملی، اسی وجہ سے سرکش ہوا اور نا فرمان ہو کر سجدہ نہ کیا۔
رشک
حسد کی بجائے رشک کرنا بُری بات نہیں ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اگر کسی کو کوئی نعمت عطا کر رکھی ہے تو اسے دیکھ کر یہ خواہش کرنا کہ اللہ یہ مجھے بھی عطا فرمائے رشک کہلائے گا اور یہ کوئی بُرائی نہیں ہے۔
خود نقصان
حاسد اپنے حسد کی وجہ سے خود ہی نقصان میں رہتا ہے۔
حسد کا عذاب
غم ِحسد ایسا غم ہے کہ اس سے بڑھ کر کوئی غم نہیں ہو سکتا۔ غضب یہ کہ اپنے آپ کو اپنے دشمن (جس سے حسد کیا جارہا ہے) کی وجہ سے خود ہی عذاب میں مبتلا رکھا جائے جبکہ حسد کی وجہ سے اس کا کچھ بھی نہ بگڑ رہا ہو کیونکہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے جو نعمت اس کے لیے مقدر کر دی ہے وہ تو خاص مدّت کے لیے ہے۔
"حسد ایسا خطرناک مرض ہے کہ بڑے بڑے جید علما بھی اس میں مبتلا ہو جاتے ہیں اور اپنے ہم مرتبہ علما کی قدردانی اور عزت پر حسد کا شکار ہو جاتے ہیں۔ فقرا اور اولیا کرام تو دنیا کے مال و دولت اور عزّو جاہ ِ دنیا پر لعنت بھیجتے ہیں اس لیے وہ کسی سے حسد نہیں کرتے بلکہ وہ ہر انسان کے خیر خواہ ہوتے ہیں۔"
