Loyalty and Sacrifice

The greatest Sunna is to sacrifice each and everything in the way of Allah.

Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) trained and purified his Companions in such a way that all their affections ended besides love for Allah and His Prophet. Whatever impeded the way of Allah's love, the Companions gave it up with absolute indifference.

Divine propinquity is not achieved until a person willingly sacrifices his every possession in the way of Allah and his loyalty to his perfect spiritual guide stays unchanged even in times of trials and tribulations.

Loyalty and sacrifice in the path of Divine love demand unwavering faithfulness of the seeker in every circumstance. When he is required to sacrifice in the path of Truth, he does not turn his back and expects no reward in return.

Love triumphs only by loyalty and sacrifice. Claim of Divine love without loyalty and sacrifice is false.

Testing a seeker's fidelity and sacrifice is in fact testing his love and sincerity for Allah Almighty.

Incident of Karbala is the perfect and eternal narration of Divine love, loyalty and sacrifice that made 'Karbala' the synonym for 'Divine love'.

It is true love that compels to be loyal. True lover is essentially loyal. One who claims love without loyalty is making a false claim.

Loyalty is a condition of love and loyalty demands sacrifice which a lover has to give no matter what. Sometimes, love asks for sacrifice but does not take it. Reflect upon the incident of Prophet Abraham and Ishmael, sacrifice was demanded but not taken.

If a disciple serves a spiritual guide and counts his services, then such a disciple is not a seeker of Allah, rather he is just a seeker of the world. Those who truly seek Allah neither count their days spent in the service of their spiritual guide nor do they count what they have spent in the way of Allah. Instead, they forget whatever they have given in the way of Allah.
