The aim of life is the recognition and vision of Allah. Becoming careless and oblivious towards this aim is negligence in terms of Sufism. One who is negligent in achieving this purpose, will be a loser and a failure.
Wisdom Veiled
Negligence keeps the wisdom veiled and hinders the way to illumination of the inward.
Seeker's Shortcoming
Negligence is the biggest shortcoming of the seeker in the way of Faqr, it deprives him of recognition of Allah.
Path to Closeness
One who seeks closeness and consent of Allah, must shun negligence and immediately adopt the path of Faqr. How can anyone find Allah until he puts his best efforts into finding and recognizing Him?
Modern Negligence
Nowadays negligence has completely dominated people. People remain absorbed in planning and struggling to improve their worldly life. Due to negligence, they do not even perform the devotions of sharia (like salat, fasts, hajj, zakat, recitation of the Quran). And those who do, are engrossed and satisfied with them and never consider to progress on the path of recognition of Allah.
Seeker's Journey
Many seekers of Allah cover the initial stages on the path of Faqr quickly and successfully but later they become neglectful and halt at one station. Whenever any seeker feels that his journey has stopped, he must instantly find the cause and resolve it. He should carry on his journey of Faqr consistently and gradually, as haste is an armament of Satan not of the believer.
Life's Purpose
Negligence is the enemy of attaining the purpose of life.
Divine Joy
Negligence obstructs the sublime joy of nearness to Allah.
Divine Love
Negligence does not allow the inward to enjoy the pangs of Divine love.
Satan's Weapon
Negligence is a dangerous weapon of Satan.
Spiritual Vision
Negligence keeps the spiritual eyes blind.
Divine Light
The Divine light cannot penetrate an inward shrouded in negligence.
Material World
Those who remain rapt in the material world and neglect the main purpose of life are like animals and will depart the world in the same state.

غفلت
انسان کا مقصد ِحیات اللہ تعالیٰ کی پہچان اور دیدارِ الٰہی ہے۔ اصطلاحِ تصوف میںغفلت سے مراد اس مقصد سے بے توجہ اور لاپرواہ رہنا ہے۔جو اس مقصد سے غافل رہے گا وہ ناکام و نامراد ہو جائے گا۔
پردے میں رہنا
غفلت انسان کی آنکھوں پر پردہ ڈالے رکھتی ہے اوراس کے قلب کو منور نہیں ہونے دیتی۔
طالب کی کوتاہی
راہِ فقر میں غفلت بہت بڑی کوتاہی ہے جس کی وجہ سے طالب ِمولیٰ حق تعالیٰ کی پہچان سے محروم رہتا ہے۔
قربِ الٰہی کا راستہ
جو شخص اللہ تعالیٰ کی رضا اور قرب کا طالب ہو اُسے غفلت سے نکل کر فوراً راہِ فقر پر گامزن ہو جانا چاہیے کیونکہ جو طالب اللہ کو پہچاننے اور پانے کے لیے کوشش اور جدوجہد نہیں کرے گا وہ اللہ کو کیسے پائے گا؟
دورِ حاضر کی غفلت
آ ج کل غفلت نے انسان کو چاروں طرف سے گھیر رکھا ہے۔ انسان دن رات دنیا بنانے کے لیے سوچ و بچار (تفکر) میں مصروف رہتا ہے۔ غفلت انسان کو عباداتِ شریعت کی طرف بھی آنے نہیں دیتی اور جو عباداتِ شریعت (نماز، روزہ، حج، زکوٰة، تلاوتِ قرآن) تک پہنچ چکے ہیں وہ انہی میں مگن اور مطمئن ہیں، اس سے آگے بڑھ کر اللہ کو پانے کے بارے میں سوچتے ہی نہیں۔
سالک کا سفر
راہِ فقر میں بڑے بڑے طالب ِمولیٰ ابتدا میں بڑی تیزی سے فقر کی منازل طے کر جاتے ہیں مگر پھر غفلت میں ایسے مبتلا ہوتے ہیں کہ ایک ہی مقام پر ٹھہر جاتے ہیں۔ جب بھی طالب یہ محسوس کرے کہ وہ راہِ فقر میں کسی منزل پر رک گیا ہے تو فوراً غور و فکر کرے اور اس عمل یا غلطی کا کھوج لگائے جس کی وجہ سے رکاوٹ پیدا ہوئی ہے، اس کا تدارک کرے اور استقامت سے آہستہ آہستہ راہِ فقر میں اپنا سفر جاری رکھے کیونکہ جلد بازی شیطان کا ہتھیار ہے مومن کا نہیں۔
مقصدِ حیات
غفلت مقصد ِحیات کی دشمن ہے۔
لذتِ آشنائی
غفلت لذتِ آشنائی کا حجاب ہے۔
عشقِ حقیقی
غفلت عشق ِحقیقی کی تڑپ دل میںپیدا نہیں ہونے دیتی۔
شیطان کا ہتھیار
غفلت شیطان کااہم ہتھیار ہے۔
چشمِ دل
غفلت چشم ِ دل روشن نہیں ہونے دیتی۔
نورِ الٰہی
اللہ کا نور غفلت بھرے دل میں نہیں اترتا۔
دنیاوی زندگی
جو دنیا میں مگن اور مقصد ِ حیات سے غافل رہے وہ زندگی بھر حیوان رہے اور حیوان ہی کی حالت میں دنیا سے رخصت ہوئے۔
