TALEBEARING

A talebearer worsens mistrust among two persons by snitching on both just because of his personal dispute or interest or sometimes due to his foolishness.

A janus-faced talebearer sows discord between two groups or individuals in a manner that each side considers him a friend and trustworthy but in reality, he is not sincere with anyone. His sole objective is to ruin both parties.

A talebearer puts his best efforts in probing and finding fault in others and then advertises them in front of people with exaggeration to spread hatred and thus creates mistrust. He swears excessively to make people believe his words.

The most dangerous truth is that which is blended with lies to manipulate the actual incident or fact. This is one of the tactics of the talebearer.

On the path of Faqr, seekers of Allah must take utmost care to prevent themselves from the disease of talebearing. Satan, whether in the form of a human or jinn, attempts to distract them from the right path more aggressively than he does with ordinary Muslims. He feels more victorious by poisoning the lives of seekers of Allah and annoying them.

Engaging in tale-bearing, profane talk, arrogant obstinacy and unfair biases lead to damnation.
