Trust Upon Allah (Tawakkal)

Meaning of Tawakkal

The Arabic word tawakkal (توکل) is translated in English as 'trust' and in Urdu as 'بھروسا' transliterated bharosa, yet neither fully capture its essence. Tawakkal is distinctly specific to the Essence of Allah. It cannot be expressed for an individual. Tawakkal is exclusively reserved for Allah.

Achieving Tawakkal

Trust upon Allah is achieved when everything besides Allah is renounced. It is considered the foundation of Faqr and it is the first lesson taught by the spiritual guide.

Divine Love

Love for Allah demands that He should be trusted completely, and everything and every matter must be handed over to Him, even one's own existence.

Material Equality

When a slave of Allah truly trusts Him then gold, silver and dust become equal for him. A person must not just expect from Allah rather he must trust Him.

Honor and Disgrace

Honour and disgrace are both from Allah, hence for His devotee both are blessings. Respect in this life may lead to disgrace in the hereafter and the disgrace in this world may bring honour in the hereafter.

True Provider

The person whose faith is weak and who does not trust Allah, is always looking for legitimate or illegitimate ways of earning livelihood instead of focusing his attention on Allah Almighty.

Divine Blessings

Trusting in Allah does not necessarily increase sustenance but grants beatitude which is better than mere increase. Allah is the Provider for everyone, if you truly trust Him in matters of sustenance, there will be blessings in your provision.

Unexpected Provision

Those who trust Allah, He provides them sustenance from the most unexpected sources. When a person faces some problem and tries to solve it in some way along with trusting upon Allah, He solves it in such a manner that the person has not even imagined.

Self-Sufficiency

Self-sufficiency (استغنا) is a state of non-dependence on others and is achieved by having unwavering trust upon Allah. It involves a mindset free from concern about others' affluence, choosing instead to place expectations only with Allah, the ultimate Provider.

"Place your trust only in Allah for all your affairs and consider the sources as Divinely appointed aids to assist you in your matters. Do not rely solely on these sources, understanding that they alone cannot facilitate you without the support of Allah."

توکل کا مفہوم

توکل عربی زبان کا لفظ ہے جس کا ترجمہ اردو میں بھروسا کیا جاتا ہے اورانگلش میں ٹرسٹ (Trust) کیا جاتا ہے لیکن توکل کا کسی بھی زبان میں اگر ترجمہ کیا جائے تو توکل کے حقیقی معنی پر پورا نہیں اترتا کیونکہ بھروسا تو کسی انسان پر بھی کیا جا سکتا ہے۔ توکل صرف اللہ پاک کی ذات پر ہوتا ہے۔

توکل حاصل کرنا

جب اللہ کے سوا ہر شے کو ترک کر دیا جائے تب ہی توکل حاصل ہوتا ہے۔ توکل کو 'فقر' کی بنیاد سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ مرشد کا پہلا سبق بھی یہی ہوتا ہے اور ایک طالب ِمولیٰ کی نشانی بھی یہی ہے کہ وہ متوکل ہوتا ہے۔

اللہ سے عشق

اللہ پاک سے عشق کا تقاضا ہے کہ اس پرمکمل توکل کر کے پنا ہر کام بلکہ اپنا آپ بھی اللہ پاک کے سپرد کر دیا جائے۔

مادی برابری

جب بندہ اللہ پر صحیح توکل کرتا ہے تو اس کی نظر میں سونا چاندی مٹی سب برابر ہو جاتا ہے۔ اللہ سے اُمید نہیں بلکہ اس پر یقین ہونا چاہیے۔

عزت اور ذلت

عزت اور ذلت دونوں اللہ کی طرف سے ہیں تو اللہ کے بندے کے لیے دونوں ہی انعام ہوئے۔ ہو سکتا ہے دنیا کی عزت میں آخرت کی ذلت ہو اور دنیا کی ذلت میں آخرت کی عزت ہو۔

حقیقی رازق

جس شخص کا ایمان کمزور ہوتا ہے اور اللہ پر توکل نہیں کرتا اس کی نظر اللہ کی بجائے رزق کے اچھے بُرے اسباب پر لگی رہتی ہے۔

اللہ کی برکتیں

توکل کرنے سے رزق میں اضافہ نہیں ہوتا بلکہ برکت پیدا ہوتی ہے اور برکت اضافے سے بہتر ہے۔ اللہ تو ہر ایک کا رازق ہے۔ رزق کے معاملے میں اگر اس پر توکل کرو گے تو تمہارے رزق میں برکت ہو گی۔

غیر متوقع رزق

جو رزق کے معاملے میں اللہ پر توکل کرتے ہیں اللہ انہیں ایسی جگہ سے رزق دیتا ہے جہاں سے ان کا گمان بھی نہ ہو۔ جب انسان کو کوئی مسئلہ درپیش ہو اور وہ اسے کسی طریقے سے حل کرنے کی کوشش کے ساتھ ساتھ اللہ پر توکل بھی کر رہا ہو تو اللہ اسے کسی دوسرے طریقے سے حل کر دیتا ہے جس کا اس نے سوچا بھی نہیں ہوتا۔

بے نیازی

استغنا سے مراد ہے بے نیازی اور بے نیازی توکل سے آتی ہے۔یعنی اس بات سے کوئی غرض نہ ہو کہ دوسروں کے پاس کتنی دولت یا رزق ہے اور یہ سوچ رکھنا کہ مجھے تو رزق اللہ نے دینا ہے ، مجھے نفع و نقصان بھی اگر اللہ چاہتا ہے تو ہو گا،اللہ کی مرضی کے بغیر کوئی کچھ نہیں کر سکتا۔

"صرف اللہ پر توکل کریں اور وسیلے کو سمجھیں کہ اسے اللہ نے ہی میرے کام کے لیے میرا وسیلہ بنایا ہے۔ وسیلے پر ہرگز توکل نہ کریں کہ یہی میرا کام کرے گا۔"
